Terms of Service
Last updated: September 21, 2026
1. Parties and scope
These terms are between Donorframe and each nonprofit organization using the platform ("organization," "you"). Donors, ticket buyers, and shoppers on a hosted site are not party to this agreement; they're bound by the organization's own policies for its site, not by terms between Donorframe and the organization.
2. The service
Hosted website, page builder, events and ticketing, donation processing via the organization's own Stripe account, and a merch store with shipping via EasyPost. Onboarding is performed by Donorframe; there is no self-serve signup.
3. Fees
A platform fee, expressed in basis points and set per organization, is added on top of each gift and ticket alongside card processing fees, and is shown to the payer before checkout. Shipping label costs for merch orders are recouped from the organization's Stripe balance with the organization's consent. Your organization's specific fee rate, and any terms beyond what's published here, are set out in the agreement Donorframe reaches directly with your organization during onboarding; these published terms supplement that agreement rather than replace it, and the agreement governs where the two differ.
4. Payments and Stripe Connect
Payment processing services for organizations on Donorframe are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service (collectively, the "Stripe Services Agreement"). By agreeing to these terms, or by continuing to operate as an organization on Donorframe, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement, as the same may be modified by Stripe from time to time. As a condition of Donorframe enabling payment processing services through Stripe, you agree to provide Donorframe accurate and complete information about you and your organization, and you authorize Donorframe to share it and transaction information related to your use of the payment processing services provided by Stripe.
The organization is the merchant of record for every charge on its connected Stripe account. Refunds are issued in full; Donorframe does not currently support partial refunds. The organization is responsible for chargebacks and disputes raised against its own connected account.
5. Organization responsibilities
- Accuracy of its tax-exempt status and the receipt details it provides (legal name, EIN)
- Any sales tax owed on merchandise: this is the organization's obligation; Donorframe does not calculate or collect it
- Content it publishes on its site, and the rights to any images or text it uploads
- Maintaining its own privacy policy for its donors, registrants, and buyers
6. Data
The organization owns its donor, registrant, and order data. Donorframe processes that data on the organization's behalf to operate the service, will export it on request, and will make it available for a reasonable period after termination before deletion. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
7. Acceptable use
The service may be used only for lawful nonprofit purposes, and not in any way that would breach Stripe's or EasyPost's prohibited-business or acceptable-use policies.
8. Availability, support, and changes
No uptime guarantee is currently offered. Donorframe may change or update the service over time; material changes that affect how an organization uses the platform will be communicated directly to the organization.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement. On termination, the organization's site is taken down, its custom domain (if any) is released, and its data remains available for export for a reasonable period before deletion. Any funds in transit or held in the organization's own connected Stripe account remain the organization's and are unaffected by termination of this agreement.
10. Warranties, liability, and indemnity
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Donorframe's total liability arising from or related to the service is limited to the greater of the platform fees paid by the organization in the preceding 12 months, or $1,000, and Donorframe is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute arising from them will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Ohio.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact form or to [email protected].
